TEAC860 Video Project
This was my first video produced based on the pedagogical design principles. Japanese Calligraphy - Getting Started Video is a getting started video that teaches you what tools you need to obtain to do Japanese calligraphy.
A friend of mine who works in the film business gave me the following pieces of advise:
- I think you pacing could be a little faster. I understand that calligraphy is a patient thing, but for web video, people will get bored quick (also what I learn from my job). So I would say make the whole thing tighter.
- You could use more b-roll shots to help you fill in those slower spots, making it seem quicker and tighter. I have problem speaking perfect English in front of the camera also, but you can use those extra b-roll to cover them up.
- This might be good, also a producer told me about this one. It's a good thing to tell your audience at the beginning of the video of what they will see at the rest of the video. This way, it could keep their interests.
